Welcome.

Patricia Jarvis is a New York based artist who has exhibited widely in the United States as well as Europe.  Her work is in collections in the US, Europe, New Zealand, Japan and the Caribbean.

Over her career, whether creating in pencil, acrylic, oil or photomontage, Patricia’s work has always juxtaposed conventional natural images with the unexpected, reflecting her fascination with the irony of the simultaneously mundane and spectacular aspects of the human condition.

Patricia’s most recent work in photomontage has combined her love of photography, vibrant color, nature, mastery of painting and her remarkable ability to be meticulous in her craft.

Photomontage is the process of making a composite photograph by cutting, gluing, rearranging and overlapping two or more photographs into a new image.  Sometimes the resulting composite image is photographed so that a final image may appear as a seamless photographic print.  Patricia completes all aspects of her photomontages by hand.  With attention to every painstaking detail of layering, combining and coloration, she creates these dynamic yet somehow beautifully serene works of art.

Having lived in the natural environments of the Mojave Desert and the Rocky Mountains of Montana, Patricia moved to New York City to further study art and advance her work as well as gain exposure to the world’s great art collections.

Patricia currently lives and works in the Hudson Valley where she draws inspiration from the natural world and the changing seasons.
